Just over a month ago, we said goodbye to a very dear colleague, who (after 20 years) made the difficult decision to leave our hospital in order to embrace an exciting new challenge. The weeks and days leading up to her departure were filled with memories and stories, both good and bad, as she reflected on her time at our hospital. Sharing these moments together was so special. Not only did we laugh (a lot) and cry (a little), but it also really highlighted the fact that being a veterinary professional is truly a gift. And every veterinary professional has their own unique story. Which is exactly why we are over the moon to reveal our newest project, The PositiVETy Podcast.

Why Positi-VET-y? It’s simple. There are just so many POSITIVE aspects to being a veterinary professional. And it is high time we shine the spotlight on what those things are. As we give our guests the opportunity to share their own special stories, our weekly podcast will serve as a gentle reminder that despite all of its challenges, there is still so much joy in our profession.

Launching in January 2022, you can expect to hear from an entertaining variety of veterinarians, veterinary nurses and industry professionals from all around the world. Sharing experiences of all kinds of things. From rhino escapades in Africa to a scenario of internship-induced alopecia; from managing long-distance relationships to “walking” down the aisle on a reindeer; not to mention some interesting career changes, including going from RAF pilot to veterinary anaesthesiologist!

Every one of us has a story that is worth sharing, and this podcast will be the perfect platform to share the tales of our colleagues and community. Make sure you tune in to rediscover the joy of veterinary medicine, and get ready to feel inspired and energised about your chosen career.

Know someone with a great story? We would love to chat to them, so get in touch and let us know!
