Andrea graduated from the University of Bristol (UK) in 2000, and after a couple of years in mixed and small animal practice, returned to Bristol to undertake a 3-year residency in internal medicine (feline). In 2005 Andrea obtained the RCVS Diploma in Feline Medicine and became an ECVIM Diplomate; and in 2006 was awarded RCVS Specialist status in Feline Medicine. Following completion of her residency she remained at Bristol Vet School’s Feline Centre as FAB Lecturer in Feline Medicine until 2010.  Andrea worked closely with International Cat Care and International Society of Feline Medicine throughout this time and was instrumental in developing the ISFM ‘Cat Friendly Clinic’ guidelines and accreditation scheme, which she also helped to launch in Australia after moving here in 2011. Once settled in Australia, Andrea became a Registered Specialist in Feline Medicine, and worked at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital, Sydney, where she developed a feline department which became the first ‘ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic’ in Australia. In 2013 Andrea was awarded the BSAVA Woodrow Award, for outstanding contributions in the field of Feline Medicine.
Andrea has lectured and published widely internationally, including being co-editor of the BSAVA Manual of Feline Practice, and Feline Review and Test.  She is currently the ISFM liaison for the ANZCVS feline chapter and ISFM Australian representative; and is passionate about providing the best care for her patients and clients, and helping to support her colleagues in doing the same.
