#008 - Dr Alan Taylor always wanted to be a veterinary surgeon, an equine surgeon in fact; however life had other plans for him, at least initially. Following graduation from his biology degree, Al joined the British Airforce where he spent many years piloting a McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom and a Tornado F3 (yup, that's some crazy fast "Top Gun" stuff right there)! Having served in the British military for 17 years, and following a misdiagnosis that meant he could no longer fly, Al decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian - and was accepted into the Bristol Veterinary School at 38 years young.
Throughout this episode, Al shares his story of how it is never too late to chase your dreams; and how possible it is to eliminate any obstacles that might be standing in the way of achieving your goals. We talk about how life really does work in mysterious ways, and how saying yes to the opportunities that are presented to you can lead to some pretty amazing experiences, including a family move from the freezing temperatures of the UK to the balmy and exotic Hong Kong!
