#027 - As a busy woman, how often are you checking in on your physical and mental health? We spend so much time looking after our patients, our clients, our family and our own pets, that often our own health care slips by the wayside – this is clearly less than ideal!
In this episode, I am joined by Dr Sarah Moore, an integrative GP obstetrician (and so much more), with a keen interest in holistic and integrative approaches to women’s health, mental health and chronic health conditions. Like most veterinary professionals, Sarah has a significant number of balls in the air, and understands all to well the pressures faced by high-achieving women. Not only is she a practicing clinician, Sarah is a wife and mum of two, a PhD candidate, Chair of the Holistic Health Practitioner network and the South West Health Practitioner Network, plus she continues to be actively involved in the education of medical students.
During the episode, Sarah shares with us some incredibly valuable insights as to the common illnesses encountered by women and what we can do to help prevent them. We also discuss her PhD research, focused on the benefits of online mindfulness training for medical students and junior doctor wellbeing – something that would also be of immense benefit to us as veterinary professionals.
